Ms. Patti Ward, a sixth grade teacher at SIB, wrote a grant that she titled, My Buddy and Me. It pairs one of her sixth grade classes with a kindergarten class to encourage reading. They meet regularly to read to each other. In the fall, the sixth graders are doing the reading - by January the kindergarteners are reading to the sixth graders.
